The many uses of a coffee table

Despite their name, coffee tables aren’t only useful for serving coffee.  They actually have a wide number of uses.  Coffee tables can serve as a great hidden storage unit.  There are many coffee tables that consist of a tabletop mounted to a hollow box base.  Usually there are hidden hinges that allow you to lift the tabletop and use the box as a place to store games, books, blankets or other items you want handy but out of the way.  There are also coffee tables that have shelves, drawers or cabinets underneath their top to store items.  Some clever designs even have spaces beneath the tabletop that accommodate small stools or chairs that can be pulled out for extra seating around your coffee table.  And if you want to use your coffee table as a display are but don’t want to crowd the surface, there are designs with glass tops that open up to a small display case where you can set collectors items or photographs.  These space-saving and storage coffee tables are a great way to reduce clutter in your living room.  There are so many styles of them that you’re sure to find one that suits your design tastes and storage needs.
